Documentation
KPV is a naturally occurring tripeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence Lysine-Proline-Valine, corresponding to the C-terminal fragment (residues 11–13) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Unlike its parent hormone, KPV exhibits anti-inflammatory signalling activity without inducing melanogenesis. In laboratory research, KPV is studied for its ability to inhibit NF-kB activation and downstream pro-inflammatory cytokine production (TNF-alpha, IL-6, IL-1beta), its antimicrobial activity, and its effects on epithelial barrier integrity and mucosal response in murine models of inflammatory bowel disease and skin inflammation. Sold for qualified laboratory and research purposes only. Not for human or animal consumption.
